Xingzao completed his BSc in Chemistry at University of Groningen (Netherlands).

After that, he obtained an MSc degree in Chemistry at Leiden University (Netherlands) with a dissertation on pan-immunoselective proteasome inhibitor for multiple myeloma.

In 2020, Xingzao started his DPhil working in the Bayley group. His research project focuses on the development of a photoresponsive protein pores.
