Leonie Schneider
Biological nanopore engineering for stochastic sensing
Leonie graduated in 2020 with a BSc in Biomedical Science from King's College London, with a semester abroad at Karolinska Institute. Their dissertation used X-ray crystallography to investigate the type II topoisomerase DNA cleavage and religation mechanism.
Leonie then entered the BBSRC Interdisciplinary Bioscience DTP at Oxford in 2020 and recently joined the Bayley lab to engineer hetero-multimeric stochastic protein sensors and explore strategies for high-throughput screening of these nanopore sensors.
