Lemuel grew up in Hong Kong. He holds a BA degree from the University of Cambridge, having studied the Natural Sciences Tripos, and an MRes in Organic Chemistry: Drug Discovery degree from University College London. His MRes research was supervised by Dr Zoё Waller and involves the structure-based design of small molecules as ligands of the human telomeric i-motif.

Lemuel is currently pursuing a DPhil in Chemical Biology degree at the University of Oxford. He is working with Professors Hagan Bayley and Ben Davis towards making nanopore sensing of glycosaminoglycans a reality. Lemuel is funded by the Croucher Foundation, Hong Kong.
